Thames Path Challenge 2019 · 7 September 2019 to 8 September 2019 ·

Dog A.I.D. changes lives by enabling physically disabled people across the UK to train their own pets to become qualified assistance dogs, supported by volunteer trainers. These dogs increase independence by helping with practical tasks, building confidence, reducing isolation and the need for care.

Story

Michael Spurr was the CEO of HMPPS and dedicated 35 years to helping others.  So many of us therefore wanted to properly mark his departure. As he is not one for grand gestures so I thought it would be good if I could get a big group of us to do something for charity.

Michael’s daughter Ruth has a dog trained by DogAID and I know that she has been keen to raise money to support the charity, as it is relatively new, and does not get the same amount of support and funding as other more well-known charities.  Read more about Ruth and Willow:  https://www.facebook.com/walkingwillow/

Thank you so much!
