Story
As an extremely fortunate father of three, I can not think of anything worse than losing a child. Brian Jarvis, who started the Alecs Angels charity, sadly had to endure such an experience when his son died aged 9 shortly after being diagnosed with a brain stem tumour. Inadvertently he discovered first hand the pros and cons of terminal cancer care for children of that age and has since thrown himself into building a charity capable of helping to rectify some of those cons and adding to the positives.
I wholeheartedly applaud Brian, and so many others like him, for all their endeavours and efforts to make the last memories of terminally ill children, and their parents, as bearable, happy and as positive as possible during the worst of all times.
