Caudwell Children transforms the lives of disabled children across the UK. We act as a safety net for families who are unable to gain the help they need. We provide family support services, equipment, treatment and therapies for disabled children and their families across the UK.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My name is Logan, I'm 12 years old and I'm from Crawley, in Sussex.

I have Duchenne muscular dystrophy, a condition that has gradually weakened my muscles.

My mum was told that I had the condition when I was very young.

Because of the weakness in my muscles  I've found it more difficult to walk and since last November 2017 I've had to use a wheelchair all the time.

To give me a break from doctors and hospital appointments my mum applied for a place for me on Caudwell Children’s annual Destination Dreams holiday to Disney World, in Florida.

Caudwell Children, is a national charity that gives support to disabled children and their families.

They created the holiday in 2007, to give 25 children, with complex
conditions, the opportunity to have a ‘Dream’ holiday to Disney World.

Mum was really happy when she found out that I had been chosen for the holiday, but now she says we have to help raise money to cover the cost of the trip.

Mum says that I deserve to go on the holiday because of the way that I cope with my condition.

She says I'm a bit cheeky and that I have a good attitude and that's why I'm popular at school.

The whole family are excited about the holiday as we will be really well looked after.

Caudwell Children will provide a team of doctors and nurses to look after me and the other children 24/7. They also take along over 40 volunteers to help all the families around the theme parks.

Because of all the help that's needed to take very poorly children overseas the charity has to pay, on average, £12,000 per family.

That's why mum says we need to help raise the money.

The holiday is really important for my sister and brother because they have missed out on a lot of things when they've had to come to the hospital visits with me.

I can't wait for us to be able to enjoy some time together and make some great memories.

It's my dream to go to Disney World, and I love seeing the adverts on TV, and I would love to meet Mickey Mouse.

I hope everyone supports our fundraising campaign so that we can raise the money that we need to go to Florida.

Thank you!
