Story

Over the past 8 months Macmillan have been a massive support system for myself (Hollie) and my husband Rodian. I was diagnosed with incurable cancer in December 2020 and in the initial few months of my diagnosis I was on the phone to Macmillan practically every day. I had a very intense chemotherapy and they provided us with countless physical support, as well as emotional support during some hard moments for us. Having cancer can be incredibly lonely, and without Macmillan I'm not really sure how I would have coped during the difficult times. They are there 24/7 and help with questions around side effects of treatment, or are there if you just simply need somebody to talk to who understands what you're going through.

Due to the nature of my cancer, Ewing Sarcoma in my pelvis, I have lost sensation in one half of my left leg. This is a way of helping myself get back to a level of fitness that I haven't had now for over a year, as well as raising money for a charity that I honestly wouldn't have been able to deal with my diagnosis without.

This is our way of giving back, and ensuring that others are able to receive the same support as we have. The services that Macmillan provide are absolutely vital. The hike is 13 miles long and will take place on the 5th September around the Jurassic Coast. Our brother Jesse, sister's Abi and Anne and best friend Andy will be joining us too.

Please donate/share etc. And thank you so so so much for your support :)
