Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am taking on the Berlin marathon on 24th September 2023 to raise money for the Spinal Injuries Association (SIA).

SIA was founded in 1974 to support people who have suffered a spinal cord injury.

Every four hours, a person's life is changed when they sustain a spinal cord injury. Their world and that of their family, is turned upside down. The NHS helps put newly injured people on the road to rebuilding their lives; SIA guide them throughout the rest of their journey.

SIA's holistic approach to supporting people suffering with a spinal cord injury and their loved ones means they provide the time, expertise and connections essential to making pathways towards a fulfilled life.

SIA provide emotional support recognising that speaking to someone who can understand what you're going through is especially helpful in times of need. SIA offer all in the spinal cord injury community free talking therapies with their specialist counselling service run by SCI people.

SIA's vision is to live in a world where every spinal cord injured person gets the chance to lead a fulfilled life. If you could help me support that vision by donating I would be extremely grateful.

Thank you
