Great Yarmouth Seafront 10k & half marathon · 20 March 2022

We are the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) and we're leading a movement against suicide, the single biggest killer of men under the age of 45 in the UK.

Story

In March I will be running 21.1km through Great Yarmouth to raise money for CALM, a charity that focuses on Mens mental health awareness and suicide. Living in Yarmouth I feel there is a high majority of men and boys who most likely suffer in silence because of the expectations they are told in society to meet of “being a man”. I think it’s important that men and boys feel like they can have their feelings and problems listened to and have equal support to anyone else. In my personal life I have male friends and family who I see struggle and I always want to urge how important it is to know there is someone who cares.  I love running and often run through town and see many people on my route. I want to feel as though I am achieving something for any one of those people I run past who may be suffering in silence and make people aware that it’s okay to seek help. Please donate to this cause which is hardly spoken of but undoubtedly so important.
