Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

On the 12th May 2018 we will be taking part in the Half moon Walk the walk challenge for Breast Cancer Now consisting of 13.8 miles starting at midnight wearing decorative bra's and we will be pounding the streets of London all for our amazing charity!

This is a charity close to our heart, as you may or may not be aware we are members of the Somerset Breast Cancer Now group which has now been active for over 21 years, to date we have raised over £515,000.

Holly has previously done the Full Marathon and the half marathon walk 3 times! One of these walks she walked with her late mother Christine and former chair of the group so its a very emotional event for Holly to take part in again. So after much convincing from the rest of the girls we have decided that this will be our challenge for 2018!

Its an amazing experience being surrounded by thousands of men and women all coming together to do this and to raise a huge amount of vital money for this charity to continue the research into breast cancer.

We have been so lucky so far to receive generous support from local businesses, Somerlap who have sponsored our training hoodies, Warren Farm Holiday Park who have paid for our travel costs and Brean Gym who is providing support and training. This means that all our money we raise now goes to the charity! We are extremely lucky and grateful for their support and kind donations.

All donations will go towards Walk the Walk who are making a
huge impact on the lives of those touched by breast cancer, and Breast Cancer Now is proud to work in collaboration with them to achieve our  shared aim of stopping women dying of breast cancer. The incredible support that Breast Cancer Now has received from Walk the Walk has enabled many of our biggest achievements in breast cancer research, including the creation of a national tissue bank, the development of PARP inhibitor drugs and the launch of LEGACY –our ground-breaking secondary breast cancer pilot study

A lot of training will happen to ensure we are Walk the walk ready! So if you see us out and about give us a wave and shout! Lisa who is joining us is based in Grimsby so will be training up north but is very much part of the group and when we all get together we will upload a pic!

Plus we have a coffee morning at the Baptist church in Burnham on sea on the 7th April to help raise funds for the walk! So please do pop along and have a piece of cake with us!

Please help us by giving to Breast cancer Now and sponsoring us in this challenge (don't forget you can gift aid your donation) no matter what you give it all goes to help reach the aim of making sure that by 2050 no one else dies of Breast Cancer.

Please keep looking back for updates on our training and of course photos from the day.

Thank You

Holly, Becky, Tori, Vicky & Lisa xx
