Story
This April I’m taking on the Kiltwalk – 14.5 miles on foot – to raise money for the National House Project, a charity that supports young people leaving care to build independent, positive futures.
As a foster carer myself, this cause is incredibly close to my heart. I see first-hand the challenges that young people in care face, and how daunting the transition into adulthood can be when you don’t have the same safety net or support network that many of us grow up with.
Living with and caring for a young person in the system has given me a real understanding of just how important stability, guidance and opportunity are. For many care leavers, that support can suddenly disappear when they turn 18.
The National House Project helps change that. They provide young people leaving care with the skills, confidence and support they need to live independently and build a future they can be proud of.
By walking 14.5 miles, I’m hoping to raise both funds and awareness for a cause that genuinely means a great deal to me and my family.
If you’re able to donate, no matter how big or small, it would mean so much and will go towards helping young people leaving care get the start in life they deserve.
Thank you for your support. ❤️
