Holly: Climbing Mt. Everest at home before I'm 9 · 20 April 2020

Hope House and Ty Gobaith gives every local child with a life-threatening condition and their family access to professional care and improves their quality of life from the point of diagnosis.

Story

Holly, aged 8,  has wanted to raise funds for Hope House ever since some people came to her school to talk about the marvellous work that they do.  She was inspired by how Hope House helps children and their families.

We had thought of doing a bake sale in the Easter holidays, but since lockdown, we had to get creative.  Inspired by the amazing Captain Tom, and the lovely Bryony from our local wildlife trust,  Holly decided to do a personal challenge at home.  She did some calculations and worked out that she could climb Everest by going up the stairs 3,404 times.  Her target is to get to the top, 8,848 m above sea level, before her 9th birthday in June.

Holly says; "I've never set myself a challenge this big before.  I'm excited about this, and I know I can do it!"
