We pioneer life-saving cancer research to help us beat cancer

Story

Just under a year ago, my mother was diagnosed with Melanoma cancer, for which she has been lucky enough to receive treatment for. This treatment has been made possible due to the astonishing work done by Cancer Research UK. All the money I raise will go towards Cancer Research UK as this is a charity close to my heart and means so much to my family. I want to be able to help all variations of cancer sufferers as much as possible through completing this extreme triathlon. So, for me to be able to raise not only money, but awareness for the charity Cancer Research UK, that helps a vast amount of people, is a huge privilege.

Over the last few years, I have enjoyed doing long distance fell running, being fortunate enough to compete both regionally and nationally. I have decided to use my passion for running and exercise for this positive and personal project.

On the 23rd of June 2022, I will be completing: The Boddy Challenge, named after the founder of the event and Old Sedberghian: Imogen Boddy, when she first completed it in 2017. It involves a six-mile open water swim across Lake Windermere, followed by a marathon (26 miles) through the Lake District, and finally a 20-mile bike ride back to Sedbergh to finish the challenge. I am hoping to raise £5000 to support Cancer Research UK, who continue to do crucial and extortionary work to ensure that we have the ability to treat this disease, and the effectiveness of treatment constantly improves.

I would be ever so grateful for any donations, no matter how big or small. Please remember that cancer effects so many people in so many different ways, and every little helps to support such an incredible charity.

There will be updates about my training leading up to the day and any support would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
