Holly, Chris and Sallys fundraising page

City of Norwich Half Marathon 2018 · 15 April 2018 ·
Over the past few months myself, Chris Hill & Sally Rix have all been getting our training gear on in preparation for the Norwich Half Marathon on 15th April! They’ve both kindly agreed to join me in fundraising for Macmillan in memory of my mum, Laura.
Almost 164,000 people in the UK die from cancer every year here in the UK. There are also an estimated 2.5 million people living with cancer in the UK in 2015, rising to 4 million by 2030.
My mum was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2014 & fought the disease like a superhero. She sadly fell ill last winter and was diagnosed with brain cancer and the preceding 10 months found our family and her lives turned upside down. Macmillan were there every step of the way and so important for the remaining few months. She passed away end of October (age 59). You realise how this terrible disease is in most people’s lives in 1 shape or form and so I’m wanting to continue fundraising for a charity that meant so much to my mum and so many more people across the UK.
Fundraising is hugely important to Macmillan. Without people doing events, running marathons, climbing mountains, and donating in all the other ways that you can, Macmillan wouldn’t exist.Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs.
