Story
Home-Start Kenya works with trained volunteers to support vulnerable families in rural and urban communities across Kenya. Home-Start Kenya has 16 schemes and in 2007, helped 1400 families and over 7,000 children.
Following elections in December 2007, disputes and violent protests have left hundreds dead or injured, and thousands displaced. Home-Start schemes have been badly affected, as many staff, volunteers and families live in areas troubled by the violence.
Home-Start International is supporting our partners in Kenya at this difficult time and we hope to provide financial help to rebuild and strengthen schemes and the national association. Money raised will help us to ensure the stability of Home-Start in Kenya, develop crisis response, protect families, volunteers and staff and go towards rebuilding the lives of those affected by the recent violence.
