Hiya! 

I'm Katie and I run Homeward Bound Pet Services. But when I'm not caring for other people's animals, you'll find me at home with my 2 beautiful rescue cats Erik and Jim. We found Erik in our garden as a tiny abandoned kitten 6 years ago, while I found old boy Jim as an abandoned stray in a client's garden after being instructed to also feed the strays while I had bookings at their home. I instantly fell in love with him and spend the following few days chatting to my clients about the possibility of rescuing him and giving him the health care and love he was clearly desperate for.

This is when I was introduced to Liverpool Cat Welfare and the incredibly dedicated team of people behind it. Jim was not yet registered with Liverpool Cat Welfare so in order to get him in to a better living situation I needed to take action myself, despite Jim not being one of their rescue cats they went above and beyond for me with their countless messages and phone calls giving me advice and guiding me through the self adoption stages and were my absolute rock when Jim tested postive for FIV during his first vet appointment. They ensured I felt equipped and ready to help him fight.

Mine and the rest of the Homeward Bound team's strong stance on adoption/rescue and my experience and love for rescue cats made it a no brainer for me, to hopefully raise some money for this incredible, selfless, lovely charity. 

I will be spending the coming months training hard to complete a half marathon, something I have never attempted before as my usual pace is dog walking...not running.
