Story
Normally, the Hoodeners travel around pubs and private parties in the week before Christmas, performing a humorous play, singing a few songs & carols, and raising significant amounts for charity - see http://hoodening.org.uk/hoodening-history4.html
Last year was different due to the pandemic - but rather than let our tradition be broken, we prepared a 'socially distanced' performance, to be viewed online. This year we're planning something similar, but also aiming to do a few live performances, if the Covid-19 situation permits. We hope that people will still be inspired to donate to our cause for this year, Strode Park Foundation. It's their 75th anniversary!
As you can see at https://www.strodepark.org.uk/ they provide vital care, support services, care at home and supported living opportunities for children and adults with a range of disabilities. The project we're directly supporting is the purchase of a new ceiling track hoist system to be installed at the Coach House in Herne, for families who need a holiday or respite for a family member with disabilities.
