Hoole Community Defibrillator Fundraising Campaign
Hoole Community with support from the Piper Pub, Pipers Lane, Hoole and Grahame and Margaret Roberts of Hoole Lane are partnering with AEDdonate to raise funds for an external, publicly accessible defibrillator to be installed at this location, and into the future additional defibrillators in the area made available 24/7 for the local community.
Why Public Access Defibrillators in Hoole Are So Important
Every year in the UK, more than 30,000 people suffer an out-of-hospital sudden cardiac arrest. Tragically, many of these cases involve young people and children.
When a cardiac arrest occurs, every minute without treatment reduces the chance of survival by around 10%. However, if a defibrillator is used within the first 3 minutes, survival rates can increase to over 80%.
Installing multiple external defibrillators across Hoole will provide faster access to life-saving treatment for anyone in the surrounding area — whether attending services, community events, visiting local facilities, or simply living nearby.
The more devices available locally, the greater the coverage and the stronger the chain of survival.
How These Defibrillators Will Help the Community
Once installed, each defibrillator will be registered with the local ambulance trust, ensuring they can direct callers to the nearest available device in an emergency.
These devices do not replace emergency services. Instead, they provide immediate, potentially life-saving intervention while an ambulance is on its way. The quicker a shock is delivered, the greater the chance of survival.
By increasing the number of publicly accessible defibrillators in Hoole, we can significantly improve emergency response times across the community.
