Story
So as most of you will know that since loosing my driving licence, my feet have become my wheels to get me from A to B! Unfortunately the British weather really hates me, and I get soaked at least 2/3 times a week walking to or from work!
Putting this anger towards ruining shoes in puddles and getting soaked aside, I’m walking 24 miles across the Chilterns to raise money for the East Anglian Air Ambulance!
The Chilterns … a lovely hilly part of Bedfordshire, HILLS … HILLS - I’m from the seaside, I’m built for sand, fish and chips and donkey rides … not climbing hills 😭.
Already planning on filling my pockets with Percy pigs, and looking for somebody to massage my calf’s the day after! Will me and my converse survive? Let’s hope so! But alas a new pair of trainers will be screaming my name at the finish line along with a cheeky j2o!
So why for the East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA) you may ask? Well, they are a 365 day-a-year helicopter emergency medical service (HEMS). Yes, these guys don’t stops because Santa’s dropped off some presents, or because the Easter bunnies been and we’re all putting ourselves in chocolate and hot cross bun comas.
They cover Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk & Suffolk, and they’re soul purpose is to save lives by delivering highly skilled doctors and critical care paramedics by air to seriously ill or injured people in the region!
They do not receive regular direct government funding and the £13 million they need to raise this year comes directly from charitable donations, like my Trek 24 fundraiser. The charity are only kept airborne thanks to incredible supporters like you who are donating and cheering me on. Thank you.
