Fundraising for Stroke Association
Story
To say this event was organised on purpose would be quite far from the truth, in-fact it all started at the Christmas party last year...
As you can imagine we had all had a few drinks and one small suggestion snowballed into running a half marathon! We all woke up the next morning and remembered what was agreed. So here we are a few months on beginning our fundraising ahead of the big day - Sunday 7th September.
There are a number of reasons why The Stroke Association is our chosen charity. Firstly a couple of our relatives have suffered strokes and have been given great care, so we want to give something back. Secondly we want to raise awareness. A stroke can effect anyone and even survivors be debilitated. More importantly recognising the signs of having a stroke can be essential - the quicker the reaction the better the chances of recovery.
