Our team captain and goalkeeper, Sam Chance, recently lost his granddad, Ray Evans. Ray was a true gentleman and a great friend to everyone within the team and everyone that knew him. His encouragement to the boys was second to none and his support to grass roots football will forever be remembered. Ray sadly passed away comfortably at The Rowans Hospice on 22nd March 2019.
The boys (coaches and manager) have agreed to run the length of the Hayling Billy Line to raise money for The Rowans Hospice on the 4th May 2019. The run will start at 10:00 in the car park just after Langstone bridge on the right hand side of the road and will finish when Guy and Lee carry each other over the finish line at the Hayling Island Amateur Dramatic Society in West Town, Hayling.
Please dig deep, living in the area we all know someone that was comforted by The Rowans in the later stages of their illness. It's a fantastic charity and is in desperate need of this kind of funding, it cannot survive without it.
This year it will cost us £6.5 million to provide hospice care - only 15% of which is NHS funded. Delivering quality end of life care is impossible without the fantastic fundraising support we get from 1000's of you in our community.
