Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Following a serious fall from my horse in September 2020, the Air Ambulance NI came to my aid in heroic fashion. They treated my unconscious self at the scene and then swiftly transported me to the intensive care unit at Belfast's Royal Victoria Hospital, where the medical teams dealt with a head injury and fractured jaw. I am so grateful for the AANI assistance that day that I really want to give something back.
Did you know that "equestrian" is one of the key words that automatically triggers the AANI to respond to a 999 call? Possibly not...
I am asking the equestrian community of Northern Ireland (and beyond) to get behind the biggest national equestrian fundraising campaign ever to have been run since the Air Ambulance NI was set up in July 2017. In that time, they have flown to the assistance of trauma patients on over 2114 occasions, some of which were horse related incidents. As we all know, a horse is an unpredictable being, and while an injury is a risk for any horse rider or handler, we all take that risk regardless every time we step into the saddle or work with our horses and ponies, all for the love of the hobby/sport. Having said that, accidents do happen and #youneverknowwhenyoumightneedthem so thank you so much in advance for your support!
