Story
The coronavirus crisis has made life more difficult for nearly everyone. But for many unpaid carers, it has monumentally increased the mental, physical and emotional impact their role has on their own lives.
This pandemic has highlighted the vital – and often overlooked – work carers do. To try and raise money for Carers Trust and help them continue their amazing work supporting carers across the UK, we (two runners) are going to run (much) further than we’ve ever run before.
It's 101 miles from Chris's front door in Coventry to Jamie's in south-east London. Following all of the current lockdown rules, we have challenged ourselves to (virtually) run the distance between our houses over a week, without ever actually getting there.
The rules are as follows:
- 1 run a day
- 7 days
- 101 miles
Carers Trust is a major charity for, with and about carers. Its network of partners support carers throughout the UK, giving them access to help, advice and breaks from caring. It works to improve support, services and recognition for anyone living with the challenges of caring, unpaid, for a family member or friend who is ill, frail, disabled or has mental health or addiction problems.
Please help Carers Trust continue their vital work by sponsoring Jamie and Chris to run quite a long way in a reasonably short amount of time, when you think about it.
