Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I shall be sailing in the ARC RACE 2012, which sets sail on the 25th November from Las Palmas in Gran Canaria across the atlantic to St Lucia in the caribbean onboard the Northern Child a Swan 50'1 Yacht (sail number- GBR 5951T).

As a self paying crew member I shall be competing in the largest trans-ocean sailing event in the world, with over 2700 nautical miles of sailing over an estimated period of 21 days non-stop.

Although this race is an adventure it is somewhat gruelling, working around the clock as one of seven non-professional crew members.

I hope to raise as much money as possible for cancer research whilst doing the race. Having lost family members and friends to cancer. This race seems like the perfect opportunity to support cancer research UK.
