Story

Geoffrey Howard Hammersley

24th March 1938 - 19th January 2015

known to many as Howard Hammersley, a keen rambler and train enthusiast but also an avid advocate of using public transport, especially the railway as a way to enjoy walking in the countryside.  To this end Howard was a founding member of the Lancashire Rail Ramblers and the Dales Rail.

In later life Howard underwent a triple heart bypass but still enjoyed walking whilst making his regular weekly visit to the charity Heartbeat where he recuperated and saw the wonderful work first hand that this charity undertook.

Tragically Howard passed away on Monday 19th January from a Myocardial Infarction hence the reason why we wish any donations to be made to Heartbeat.

Therefore if you would like to donate in memory of Howard please do so here.

Many thanks

Sue & Family
