ASICS Greater Manchester Marathon 2018 · 8 April 2018 ·

Like all RSPCA branches, we are independent, meaning we do not receive government funding and must fundraise to care for local animals. We look after cats, dogs and rabbits who may have been subject to cruelty or neglect previously, making sure they are happy and healthy once rehomed.

Story

This is my second Greater Manchester Marathon. The first time I ran this event I raised funds for the Dogs Trust which was a great success in both donations raised and finishing time, exceeding my expectations.

This time I am aiming to finish in under four hours but more importantly raise some much needed and well deserved funds for the Mid-Lincolnshire and Lincoln branch of the RSPCA.

Having visited some of the local foster shelters in the area, my wife and I have seen first hand just how much hard work and dedication is put in by everyone involved. It has also made me appreciate just how much funding is desperately required to keep the charity going. This involves feeding, vaccinating, facilities and shelter maintenance, critical medical treatment and providing simple love, care and affection for the animals, to name a few.

Without donations non of it would be possible.

Thanks in advance for the generous donations. Wish me luck!
