Story

In the past, to raise money for our very important St Elizabeth Hospice, I've run the World's Dullest Marathon (twice), done an irritatingly long gig that failed to break the world record but did break me, undertaken ten gigs in a day and played a series of free gigs when I was unceremoniously overlooked for an Elvis Tribute show for being 'too comical'.

The thing about doing these is that the generous contributor receives nothing tangible - other than maybe a dubious night out in some poorly lit music venue or a 'thank you' caption underneath a photograph of the rare moment where I wasn't walking during a marathon.

Due to the lack of live gigs this year I have sought solace in another field of the arts. Art. Primarily pencil drawings. These have been well received. Surprisingly so, given that they're not great. I've already replied to emails asking for personalised commissions (thanks James for sending that).

So, it got me to thinking, that to keep myself busy between now and Christmas (in lieu of gigs), I could really earn some money for the St Elizabeth Hospice by actually working for it. Simultaneously, this could be the resolution for a tricky Christmas gift. Request a unique and personal picture of a loved one, pet or celebrity to adorn the study or the second floor toilet?

I would ask for a minimum donation of £10 (you could of course donate more if you deemed the finished piece more worthy) but £10 would certainly cover the hour I would dedicate to it. I would personally cover the cost of postage and packing (I'd drive it over to yours).

If this takes off, I promise not to do a live stream of ANY sort.

About the charity

St Elizabeth Hospice improves life for people with a progressive illness. Our work centres around individual needs, with specialist support, wherever required, at home, in the community or at the hospice. Each year the hospice needs to generate £12.9m, of this 70% comes from the local community.
