Story

Thank you for visiting our Just Giving Page

The RNLI has continued to save lives at sea throughout lockdown. As restrictions have eased, many people have headed to our coast. But this has meant our brave volunteer lifeboat crews and lifeguards have been busier than ever, launching to save people in trouble on our beaches and at sea.

The Hoylake & West Kirby RNLI Fundraising Branch supports the two lifeboat stations and crews at Hoylake and West Kirby on the Wirral. As part of the charity that saves lives at sea, we rely on donations from the public to keep their 24/7 search and rescue service running. But we have not been able to fundraise as normal – we have had to cancel our bucket collections and fundraising events, including our annual Lifeboat Open Day, to keep our volunteers and supporters safe.

But that means our income is falling fast.

Last year it cost £181.5 million to keep the RNLI running, helping us save 374 lives and help over 38,700 people.

Please support us by giving what you can to keep our crews safe and equipped. £25 will buy a lifeboat crew member a pair of sea-going gloves. £480 will buy them a lifejacket. Whether big or small, your donations will help them save lives at sea.
