Harlow Police Football Club Movember page

17 babies are stillborn or die shortly after birth everyday in the UK. Some could be easily prevented whilst others unfortunately cannot. Stillbirths and Neonatal deaths are 10 times more common than cot death.
Sands are a lifeline to families who are affected by such tragedies and we need to support them to help raise awareness, to help them continue their research, to help them educate those working in the NHS to minimise the needless loss of such a precious gift and for those babies that they cannot help to save, the support SANDS provides to the families in the aftermath and many years to come is invaluable.
Harlow Police FC are raising money for SANDS by growing moustaches from 1st November until 30th November. If they reach the target of £1000 they will also be having their chests waxed, so please dig deep!!
The money being raised for SANDS is in the memory of Isla Rose Bennett who was stillborn on 26th May 2013 at Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow, due to having a rare type of Leukeamia. She is the daughter of Leanne and John Bennett, who without the help and support of SANDS would not be where they are today." Losing a child is the worst pain imaginable, it is a lonely grief that no one completely understands. SANDS is a community of families brought together by the tragic loss of their babies. It is where you can talk to people who are walking the same path as you whether their loss is recent or 40+ years ago, who know exactly how you are feeling and can offer you advice on how to cope and reassure you that you will learn to carry the grief with you and you will smile again. Their support is Invaluable to us and we don't know where we would be without them".
