Staying at home for vulnerable communities presents additional challenges. As the charitable arm of the Irish Funds Industry, we can help ensure that basic physical and emotional needs are met, by delivering support directly to these communities.

Story

HSBC Ireland are proud to partner with basis.point and Irish Funds Covid-19 Emergency Relief Fund in organising a 5km team walk/run event to raise some much needed funding aimed at helping vulnerable communities through the impact of the current crisis.

The event will take place on Saturday 16th May with everyone participating aiming to walk, run, hop, crawl or otherwise traverse a 5km distance on the day. Entries can be either in teams of four or individually. We would suggest a nominal entry fee of €15 per person, however you can clearly donate as much or as little as you wish. The sum of all donations made will be matched by HSBC. Please join us in our efforts for this very worthy cause more details of which can be found below.

basis.point together with Irish Funds, have set about raising funds to help vulnerable children and families cope with the additional challenges of the Covid-19 crisis.

20 can help restore emotional wellbeing by providing age appropriate activity packs for children

50 will help reduce parental anxiety for vulnerable families, providing a safe and clean play mat for babies and toddlers and daily telephone support

100 will keep a family nourished providing a hot meal once a day.

Thanks to our existing relationships within the community, we can ensure that this happens immediately. We've already partnered with Belvedere Youth Club delivering hot meals, the Peter McVerry Trust supplying age appropriate activity packs and the Early Learning Initiative providing clean and safe play mats and daily telephone support. We are continuing to seek out other partners throughout the country.
