Run Report
(Please see "Updates" below for snapshots from the Strava running app, for some runners who recorded their run. Photos will be added later when available).
After floods & driving rain the day before, the run day was cold, wet underfoot, but at least not raining. A very quick shower started as we set off running but soon stopped & it remained dry thereafter. Jacqueline set the pace to start with (I think she's done this before!).
All in all, everyone enjoyed the event, especially the warm cafe and nice food. We all worked well as a team, and a few people who were still there at the end, kindly did a few extra laps to assist anyone (especially me) who was struggling a bit.
The target was 75 miles (100 laps), and we actually did 103 laps between us. The final tally of laps done by each person (in no particular order), was as follows:
- Michelle (4 laps)
- Karen (4 laps)
- Veronica (5 laps)
- Sam Norton (4 laps)
- Sam Smith (6 laps)
- Samantha Stevens (10 laps)
- Chris Miller (4 laps)
- Kerry (3 laps)
- Satpal (8 laps)
- Des (5 laps)
- Dan (6 laps)
- Khusbu (8 laps)
- Ashleigh (6 laps)
- Jacqueline (12 laps)
- Sandra (3 laps)
- Jonathan (15 laps)
- TOTAL LAPS 103 / TOTAL DISTANCE 77.25 MILES
Thanks very much to everyone who has supported us, for the directors of HSKS Greenhalgh for allowing this to happen and promoting the event, for Lynette for taking photos and promoting the event, and of course to all the runners. Great effort, and well done!
Original Story
On Children In Need Day, Friday 15th November 2019, a team of approx. 15 people from HSKS Greenhalgh (accountants in 4 offices across Nottingham, Derby and Uttoxeter), will attempt to run a total distance
of 75 miles between them.
The distance of 75 miles has been chosen, as this is just over the distance that would be travelled if one were to drive from the
Nottingham Office to the other 3 offices at Wollaton, Derby and Uttoxeter, and then back to Nottingham again via the same offices.
The challenge will be undertaken at the Forest Recreation Ground, and will consist of 5 teams, each running simultaneously to hopefully
achieve the targeted distance within a few hours.
We would be grateful for any support and donations that you
may wish to make, no matter how small.
Keep watching this page for more updates and the final report at the end of the event.
Best Regards
Jonathan Pearce (on behalf of the HSKS Greenhalgh team).
