Help for Heroes provides outstanding support for service men and women, both directly and through its support of other charities, such as 'Combat Stress' and 'The Army Benevolent Fund'.
The five of us, captained by Anna, have been selected to attend the IDG Business Challenge at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. As part of the preparation, the team have a challenge to raise at least £2500 for the Help for Heroes Charity.
Robert (Bobby) Binns is planning to do a Channel Swim in the last week of August in support of Help for Heroes.
The Channel is just over 20 miles across. However, due to the time that a swimmer will spend swimming against the current, the actual distance is closer to 30 miles. One poor individual is reputed to have swum more than 50 miles before they made it to France. As well as having to endure freezing cold waters, swimmers have to battle through jelly fish and algal blooms. The Channel is also the World's busiest shipping lane and one of the most polluted stretches of sea on the planet. - GOOD LUCK BOBBY!!!
Thank you for your support!
