I am challenging myself to climb Kilimanjaro (the highest freestanding mountain above sea level in the World) during October and will be using this opportunity to raise funds for Henry Tyndale special school in Farnborough, Hampshire. 

In the past few years I have witnessed first-hand the incredible work the school and staff do to support their 140+ pupils, with complex learning difficulties and special educational needs, to achieve their full potential as independent young people. 

I have been fortunate enough to develop links with this school through my daughter (who now teaches at the School) and her experiences supporting a young pupil who has made incredible progress throughout the years. 

This fundraising opportunity adds to support already given to the school through my company Bridges Estate Agents, whose links with the community include partnerships with Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice and St Michael's Hospice, in addition to an ongoing legacy of working with local Schools and charities since 1991. 

The trek takes place along the Lemosho route, culminating in a 14 hour ascent and descent of the summit and the roof of Africa at 5895m, on the 8th day. Although experienced in hiking and trekking this is my most challenging yet due to the altitude and the climatic conditions and terrain - and has required 4 months of training.
