3 Peaks Challenge · 15 September 2018

St Clare Hospice is a charity providing specialist care for people living with a terminal or life limiting illness in West Essex and East Herts border. We care for patients & their families, providing physical, social, psychological & spiritual support

Story

Inspired by the HTS "Raff's Pedlars" challenge team in 2017 who completed a 250 mile bike ride and then climbed Mount Snowdon, Neil our Commercial Director perhaps somewhat tongue in cheek suggested that a team get together and attempt The 3 Peaks in 2018...

This resulted in and eclectic range of backgrounds and ages stepping forward in the form of Commercial (Neil/Shakeel), Operations (Steve), Finance (Alex & Amy), ICT (Gary), H&S (Stella), Transport (Martin), HR (Tim) and Keith a former employee stepping into the co-driver role at the last minute.

At a personal level, I worked for St Clare Hospice for 3 years and have seen at first hand the outstanding and caring support they provide in palliative care, hospice at home and day therapy and very much wanted to be part of the team.

The National Three Peaks Challenge involves climbing the three highest peaks of Scotland, England and Wales, often within 24 hours.

The total walking distance is 23 miles (37km) and the total ascent is 3064 metres (10,052ft)
