GFCT is dedicated to raising Prostate Health Awareness in men aged over 40 after losing a dear friend at 58 and a family member to Prostate Cancer. We have so far PSA Blood tested over 100,000 men and have identified over 1,892 known cancers. Please visit our website at www.psatests.org.uk

Story

40,000 men in the UK are diagnosed with prostate cancer every year of which 10,000 die. It is known as the silent killer because it often shows little or no symptons until it is too late.

It is recognised that the best way to beat the disease is to be diagnosed early and treated accordingly.

One regret I had when diagnosed with prostate cancer over 10 years ago is that I did not make my friends, extended family and colleagues aware of such a dangerous disease.

On Sunday 12 may I am participating in the Stratford 220 sprint Triathlon consisting of 400m swim, 23k bikeride and 5k run to raise money for The Graham Fulford Caritable Trust. It seems a bit ambitious at my venerable age to be entering such an event but as long as I am sensible and do not try to emulate the Brownlee brothers I am sure I will be fine!!

The Graham Fulford Charitable Trust is committed to raising awareness of prostate cancer and promoting early diagnosis. In particular The Trust runs information evenings and PSA testing sessions, in the Warwickshire area and also throughout the country. If you have a few minutes view their web site and you will see the excellent work they do. If you are a 40-45+ year old male arrange to get yourself checked out.

Do please donate any amount of money if you can and, if you are in the vicinity of The Stratford Leisure Centre on the morning of Sunday 12  May, come along and give me a cheer!

Many thanks and best wishes
