Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. On Sunday 4th July I'm taking part in a 60 mile bike ride from Manchester to Blackpool to raise money for The Christie Charity and have set up this JustGiving page to collect donations.
The Christie is one of Europe’s leading cancer centres, treating over 40,000 patients a year. They are based in Manchester but treat patients from across the country providing radiotherapy through one of the largest radiotherapy departments in the world; chemotherapy on site and through 14 other hospitals; highly specialist surgery for complex and rare cancer; and a wide range of support and diagnostic services. They are also an international leader in cancer research.
The Christie Charity raises money to fund projects at The Christie which are outside the scope of the NHS. Last year nearly £12 million was raised, which funded a whole range of things, including a new radiopharmacy, to communications skills training for nursing staff, a new state-of-the-art surgical robot, groundbreaking cancer research and our wig service (to name but a few).
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
