Story
I have now completed the Royal Parks Half Marathon, enjoying the sights and sounds of London and it's loveliest parks in the beautiful sunshine.
I am raising money for an important charity, Book Aid International, which sends books to children and adults in developing countries (mainly in sub-Saharan Africa) to improve literacy in many of the poorest communities.
Much of the charity's work involves helping to rehabilitate libraries in conflict and post-conflict situations, or in the wake of natural disasters. Book Aid also works outside Africa - current work is a programme in Palestine and a project in Sri Lanka in response to the Indian Ocean tsunami of 2004.
