Story

Hello all!!

Thank you so much for visiting my page!  I really would like to raise as much as I can for a very worthy cause.

Taking inspiration from all the people I know who have taken part in so many events to raise such a vast sum of money for charity, I thought it was high time to jump on the bandwagon!  My main inspiration, however, is my mum Alison who, having been diagnosed with bowel cancer over 5 years ago, has completed an MA in Creative Writing and done a lot of work for various charities, as well as being a generally good egg and wonderful mother, all the while battling various nasty forms of cancer without a whinge in sight!

I'm running the world famous
Lisburn Half Marathon (that's in Northern Ireland for anyone who, like me, had no idea where it was) on 18th June.  As you are aware, I'm sure, I'm hardly built for distance running, so I'll have to work very hard to get my ample frame over the line in a half-decent time!

I'm putting myself through this pain for Beating Bowel Cancer, a charity which does a huge amount of great work, not least in raising awareness for a hugely under-publicised disease which kills 50 people a day in the UK alone!

Thank you ever so much for your support.  It really means a lot to me and, hopefully, to many others.

Please feel free to come over and clap me on.  I'll need some help undoing all the good training afterwards!

Thank you!!!!!!!!!

Hugh
