Place2Be is a children's mental health charity that works to improve the emotional wellbeing of children and young people. We help them to cope with wide-ranging and often complex social issues including bullying, bereavement, domestic violence, family breakdown, neglect and trauma.

Story

Dear all,

For those that don't know me very well, my name is Hugo Yaxley, I'm 16 years old and suffer from an anxiety disorder. Health is crucial to a happy and stable life, wether it be mental or physical. Yet mental health is still overlooked by many. Place2be helps teenagers and young kids to express there mental state through arts, talking and many other interactive activities. It helps children open up about themselves and feel comfortable about who they are, like all of us should be. What is the difference between a broken arm and broken brain? The answer is nothing. Just because you can't see the fault in your mental state, like your arm, doesn't mean that it isn't there.

So I am attempting (without failure) to complete a bike ride, of which the details I will put up soon. This is to raise awareness and help those who feel trapped or that feel they can't help themselves.

Thanks for visiting the page. It means a lot to me that you have either donated or taken the time to support and read my story.

Kind regards.
Hugo Yaxley
