Story
I am running the Royal Parks half marathon to raise money for Leukaemia Care in memory of my late mother in law May Porter who passed away on 30/9/2025 after suffering from acute myeloid leukaemia for the past year.
May Porter was a truly inspirational woman and matriarch of a family she loved more than anything else. May always put others first; feeding us all with her generous and legendary cooking, knitting a new wooly hat or blanket, playing games with her grandchildren. She adored her grandchildren and we are so grateful for the time they had to spend with her. May is irreplaceable and will live on in all our memories.
Leukaemia Care is a national charity dedicated to ensuring that anyone affected by blood cancer receives the right information, advice and support. Around 34,000 people are affected by blood cancer each year in the UK and we're here to support them through their diagnosis, treatment and beyond.
