Let'sTrek for Children 2019 · 25 October 2019

ECHO supports families affected by children’s heart conditions treated by Evelina London, Royal Brompton & Harefield & their networks of specialist local hospitals. ECHO offers practical & emotional support throughout their journey, welcoming them to a community of shared experience & understanding.

Story

I’m so happy to say I completed the trek through Cambodia on 1/11/19. It was an incredible, humbling and life changing experience. I’m thrilled to have raised so much for ECHO in such a short space of time and I absolutely could NOT have done it without the unbelievable generosity of each and every person whom donated. From the bottom of my heart - thank you. Hulya xx

I have self funded my trip, so any money I raise goes straight to ECHO, yay!  This is a deeply personal challenge for me.

I'm so delighted to join the Trek through Cambodia, to help support ECHO, it will be an incredible journey. At two days old our beautiful son suddenly became critically ill, he was diagnosed with a complex heart defect and needed urgent life-saving open heart surgery. Some amazing people, especially at The Evelina, helped to save his life. Today our son is 8, a happy, healthy and energetic child, no different from any other. "Thank you ECHO".

"Starting and finishing in Siem Reap, the gateway to the ancient world famous Angkor Wat temple complex, you’ll follow a stunning route through rice paddies, forests and jungles, past lakes and a magnificent waterfall and even to the peak of Kulen Mountain. Our bucket list trek finishes with a fascinating archaeological tour of Angkor Wat and its surrounding temples – by foot, of course!

Along the way, we will camp in the grounds of a hidden jungle monastery, rest at a rustic home stay and get some extra insight into the Khmer culture, as we trek through remote villages and visit a local mountain school.

This enchanting adventure will be life changing in many ways, both for you as you achieve your own personal challenge and for the children who will benefit from the work carried out by ECHO.  The challenge will be tough but the friendship and camaraderie along the way will be very special."
