A 50 strong team of firefighters from West Midlands Fire Service are taking part in a unique endurance challenge for Birmingham based blood cancer charity Cure Leukaemia and The Fire Fighters Charity.

Starting at 5pm on Friday September 12th underneath the bandstand at Birmingham’s Brindley Place, 50 of the region’s fire fighters will each run for one hour in full kit on a human hamster wheel to raise money and awareness for the two charities.

The human hamster wheel was built for an act that featured on ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent and will now be on full show in Birmingham City Centre. Former leukaemia patient Adam Joyce, who came up with the idea, will complete the final hour of the challenge between 6 and 7pm on Sunday September 14th
