Students at Bristol take on a Skydive for Unseen!

Story

I have set up this page to raise awareness of modern slavery. What is modern slavery you ask? Modern Slavery is an umbrella term for activities involved when one person obtains or holds another person in compelled service. Modern slavery includes forced labour, domestic servitude or coercing, deceiving and forcing an individual into a life of abuse.

I’m going to take on the skydive challenge and jumping out of a plane from 15,000 feet (4.55 km) with a minute of freefall. This would be an exhilarating and an unforgettable experience, as many individuals are terrified of heights and find it quite daunting!

Unseen is a charitable company limited by guarantee, funded through the generosity of private supporters, corporate sponsors, trusts and foundations. We also receive some statutory government funding for our support work with survivors of modern slavery.

We are an influential and trustworthy voice on issues of slavery, and we can deliver quality care. The victims of trafficking crimes are always at the heart of our work. We want restore as many lives as we can, in the best way that we can.

By giving to Unseen you:

  • Help survivors recover from trauma and begin to rebuild their lives;
  • Train professionals;
  • Enable Unseen to promote effective and practical solutions to government, police, statutory agencies and businesses to identify modern slavery and act appropriately;
  • Allow us to identify more vulnerable people;
  • Enable us to take preventative measures to stop slavery occurring.

By donating, you can help us make a significant impact on the fight against modern slavery. Your contribution can help us work towards ending it for good.

  • £3 could pay for a survivor's meal at one of our safehouses.
  • £10 could pay for a ‘Welcome Pack’ of toiletries to a survivor arriving at one of our safehouses.
  • £40 could pay for one counselling session for a survivor, providing support after they have escaped slavery.
  • £200 could pay for eight survivors to go on a special outing to help create positive memories.
  • £1200 could pay for all the monthly activities for a year in one of our safehouses. This includes garden and
  • £2000 photography workshops, cooking classes, arts and crafts and more.
