I am currently coaching Rhiwbina RFC U13s and have coached this amazing bunch of boys since they were 7yrs old. As a club we have teamed up with Cancer Research Wales with a view of trying to raise at least £10000 (and hopefully more) for this great charity, mainly through sale of raffle tickets during home and away matches.

We probably all know somebody that has been affected by Cancer. I have personally seen the effects this horrible  desease has, as my mother has twice been diagnosed with Cancer but through peoples donations it has meant that early detection and intervention and advancements in medical technology means she and many others have battled it and more importantly beaten it. 

For those who know me know that I have played Rugby pretty much all my life and as a result my knees and calf’s are let’s say not what they used to be so running the Cardiff Half Marathon is going to be a massive personal challenge with a lot of pain and suffering I’m sure, but this is nothing the pain and suffering that thousands affected by cancer are facing on a daily basis. So I thought as my Rugby club have now teamed up with Cancer Research Wales and I’m running the Cardiff Half anyway, why not try to raise some money for this great charity at the same time.
