Challenge ROTH · 9 July 2017

We are a voluntary Search and Rescue service covering the Central Brecon Beacons and the South and Mid Wales area. A 999 24/7 service operating in all weather conditions to assist those injured/lost in mountain/rural/urban environments. We rely on donations for the £60,000 yearly running costs.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

my "BIG" event this year is to compete in the full (ironman) distance Triathlon in Roth, Germany. They don't get much bigger.

I don't normally enter events on a charity ticket.  But I have decided to change this for this one event for a good reason. I'm totally self funded, as are mountain recue teams

on Sunday 21st May my 13 year old fell 45 foot from a cliff face in the Brecon Beacons

Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team were the first on the scene. They were the last leaving the scene. Rowan was eventually Airlifted to Hospital where he is receiving treatment for multiple Broken ribs and a shattered pelvis. He is in a very bad way, but is incredibly lucky to be alive. Without such a prompt response and superb treatment, he may not have been so lucky.

There were other MRTs involved and they are all amazing. Mountain rescue teams are volunteers, all giving their time for free, and buying their own kit, they even pay VAT.

I'm increadably greatful to South Wales fire and rescue, South Wales police, Wales ambulance trust, HART, air ambulanc Wales as second helicopter on standby, The list is too long. Thank you all.

Please give anything.
