Back in August, my friend and colleague Rob Froud-Williams went into the office one day that we both worked at, but very sadly, Rob didn't go home that day. Tragically he suffered a heart attack and he never recovered. Rob was only 37. Too young. Rob left behind his beloved wife Nic and their 3 beautiful children Katy, Amy and Ben.

Rob was my friend and my work colleague, but my friend above all. I and everyone else who knew him miss him a lot.

Now even though Rob was a firm supporter of the English national rugby team and always the first person to text me a less than complimentary message each time his team beat my team Wales, I never held it against him and on the rare occasions we got the upper hand, Rob knew only too well that I'd be poised with my own less than complimentary message to him! Our 'cuddles' on the floor of the 5* Randolph Hotel in Oxford on an office night out one Xmas is the stuff of legend and has led to many a frankly exaggerated story...but did certainly lead to our party being asked to leave and never return...

Too many stories to tell. All good ones and great memories.

I happen to be one of the office's first aiders, trained by St John Ambulance over the years. I also happened to be in the office that day back in August. I'm so grateful to St John Ambulance that they gave me the skills I had that day, that placed me with Rob and allowed me to do the little I was able for him. But it was so important in that time.

That's why I want to run for St John Ambulance. To raise some money for them and to give a little (or a lot I hope!) back to them.

I'm running most of all for Rob of course. And as much for Rob's family, to put some more memories out there for them.
