Story

As part of the AICC winter challenge, I've committed myself to completing a number of long distance cycle rides across the winter period.

So far, with the help of God Most High, I've completed my 2 longest rides yet

- AICC Winter Chilterns Ride. A 75 Mile ride to Oxford completed in the pouring rain.

- My first Century ride. An 110 mile, 8 hour long ride from East London to Windsor and back.

I've also planned some other long distance endurance challenges over the winter. I'm currently planning on undertaking the 70+ mile Milton Keynes loop and the Prudential Ride 100 route with AICC (EDIT: these rides are currently on hold due to tier 4 restrictions).

Also, if the campaign goes well and we manage to smash the donations out of the park (£500), I'll do the ultimate endurance challenge for someone like me (with the help of Allah).

This is something I've been considering for a while, but am currently too scared to attempt. I'll update the page and inform you of what is is once you near this fundraising target iA.

I'm raising for Ummah Welfare Trust. They currently have a winter appeal to help those in other countries get through the winter. Many place around the world have exceedingly harsh winters and in wartorn countries like Syria and Afghanistan families are often left with little to protect themselves with against the cold. Add to that the pandemic the world is facing, and the disruptions it has caused and you can imagine how difficult the situation must be.

So please donate generously to the appeal. I'll be matching donations and donating equal to whatever you guys give for the first £300 so let's hit that target very soon Insha Allah so I can set a new target.

UMMAH WELFARE TRUST WINTER SURVIVAL APPEAL

The worst season for poor and homeless Muslims is now here. The winter months bring freezing winds and rain, and with it even more poverty and suffering. In Syria, Afghanistan, Gaza and elsewhere across the Ummah, mothers and their children will struggle to survive the cold nights.

Ummah Welfare Trust has launched an emergency appeal to help them. Just £50 can provide a family in a disaster-hit part of the Ummah with fuel, blankets and other life-saving items. Just £10 can provide one blanket.  No child should die from the cold. Donate your Zakat, Sadaqah and Lillah and keep the Ummah warm this winter.

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:‘Whoever relieves a believer from one of the hardships of this world, Allah will relieve him from one of the hardships of the Day of Resurrection.’[Muslim]
