Thanks for taking the time to visit my Page
Unfortunately the subject of mental health and the negative impact it can have on men in particular has been back in the news recently and it’s a subject I have had a lot of experience with.almost 9 years ago in June 2010 my dad felt as though he couldn’t go on anymore and ended his life by committing suicide.still to this day there’s a lot of unanswered questions, should have I noticed any signs? Is there anything I could have done differently? The thing was though,my dad like most people who suffer mental health problems hid it extremely well.he was always his happy go lucky self with my sister and I and never allowed his inner feelings to show around us.From the outside looking in my dad had everything going for him,a lot of things people would maybe even wish they had too but life doesn’t work like that.it doesn’t matter how much money you have, how many friends you socialise with or even how successful you are in your career,if you aren’t happy inside then none of it matters.its never too late to talk to someone, even a stranger if it’s easier.everyone is going through their own daily struggles that we know nothing about so it’s important to keep that in mind no matter how good a persons life may seem from the outside looking in.On May 11th my sister and I will be doing a sponsored walk for Chris’s House,a charity who do a huge amount of work for suicide awareness.any donations at all would be greatly appreciated. Lets end the stigma. 💙Iain Baird Snr💙
