Story
My Nana sadly suffered from Alzheimer's leading to dementia, and up until her passing my Grandad dedicated his time to making sure she lived the most comfortable life possible.
Not long after when we were finally over all the lockdowns and social distancing of the Covid-19 pandemic, he passed away to a very aggressive cancer. He was one of the most loving and selfless men I had the pleasure of knowing, it is still hard to comprehend that he is gone.
I was fortunate to inherit his bike, an old Raleigh Esprit called Nobby (or Noddy, we cant agree as a family but the former makes us laugh more). It has seen many miles, from commuting to charity rides, and have slowly spent the last 6 months giving it some needed TLC.
I wanted to honour my grandparents and I thought of no better way to do so but do my own charity ride. So for the the last 5 months I have been training to go from not cycling at all to taking on the Norwich 100, a 100 mile ride round Norfolk starting and finishing in Norwich to raise money for Alzheimer's Society, using the very bike my grandad used many years ago.
If you are reading this and have the means to support in any manner that would be incredible, but if you can not I appreciate you taking the time to read this.
Sincerely,
Alfie
