My swim for Alzheimer’s Society · 5 May 2024 to 30 September 2024 ·

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

William’s nanny was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s back in 2019. At the time William was too young to understand. As he has grown older and learnt more about the disease, he has decided he wants to do all he can to help. He wants to help Scientists develop a medicine to one day cure Alzheimer’s forever. For now he pledges to swim for his Nanny Chrissy and donate all funds raised to Alzheimer’s Society who are transforming the landscape of dementia forever.

William, who is only 7 years old, will swim 1 mile over the month of February. This is 201 widths of his Swimming Club’s pool. He will do this at his own pace as much as he can week by week. Williams amazing swimming club have offered their support and are allowing him to complete this in their safe environment knowing what a phenomenal swimmer he is.

Well done William we are all behind you in your first ever fundraising event. Go and make your Nanny proud. **written with tears of pride in my eyes.
