My walk for Alzheimer's Society · 1 April 2020 to 31 March 2021 ·

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

UPDATE Fraser and I completed the walk on Saturday, July 31 and climbed Ben Nevis the next day, walking a total of 110 miles. We had a wonderful time, met lots of great people, passing through fantastic landscapes. Can't wait to do it again. Thanks so much to everyone for their support. It means a lot. On July 24, Fraser, my thirteen-year-old son, is going to walk the West Highland Way, a 96 mile route from Glasgow to Fort William, with me. It will take us eight days, with a 10 mile walk up and down Ben Nevis on the ninth day. We are going to camp along the route and will be carrying all our gear for the majority of the way. We were doing it for fun, but decided it was a good opportunity to raise some cash for the Alzheimer's Society, in memory of Fraser's grandmother Audrey. We have done a total of 196 practice miles with full packs since February, (lots of pics in the gallery above). Any donations will be greatly appreciated, no matter how much.

Please feel free to pass this link on to anyone whose family has been affected by Alzheimer's and may be interested in supporting us.

Many thanks
