Story
At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.
My friends and I are organising a **5K Halloween walk at Rufford on 4 October** to raise money and awareness for Alzheimer’s Society. This is a six-form fundraiser, and more information will be shared throughout the week through posters.
The event is open to children, adults and well-behaved animals. Everyone is encouraged to dress up for Halloween, and there will be a prize for the best-dressed participant. Volunteers will be helping along the route to guide participants and keep everyone safe.
There will be **activity stations and sweet stations for children** at different points along the trail. Participants should bring their own buckets, as buckets filled with sweets will be placed at certain points. Beverages will also be available to buy, and there will be raffles with prizes to help raise additional money for Alzheimer’s Society.
Alzheimer’s and dementia have affected many people in our group, as we have either experienced it within our own families or know someone who has had to deal with it. Because of this, supporting Alzheimer’s Society means a great deal to all of us. We hope many of you will come along to our event, enjoy the day with your family and friends, and help us raise money and awareness for such an important cause.
Overall, the event is designed to bring the community together for a fun and enjoyable Halloween activity while raising valuable funds and awareness to support people living with dementia and their families.
