Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My swimming friend Simon Mansfield had the idea for this channel distance pool swim between 6 of us, to raise money for Cancer Research. On the day he told me about the planned event, my friend Richard's dad, Dave Higgins died.

Dave was an excellent bloke, kind, generous and tolerant, with a lovely sense of humour - a true Brummie. 'DIY Dave' we called him as teenagers. He was a hard working window cleaner, successful but with no sense of self importance. Much loved by his family he will be missed by everyone that knew him.

My aim is to plod, to keep right on to the end of the road, like Dave did.
